Stiaan Ras
My name is Stiaan Ras, I’m 28 years old and from Equestria in Pretoria.
I work as a Personal Trainer in the Silver Lakes area, in the East of Pretoria. I have always
taken pleasure participating in various sports and as long as I can remember, have been
extremely health conscious.

For me, spending time outdoors and surrounded by nature, is a thrill – whether it’s scuba diving,
hunting or hiking. I have provincial colors in athletics and have also had numerous
successes in body building competitions. I take pride in my body, for the simple reason that
it is the temple of our Creator and that our health, both mentally and physically, now
symbolizes modern-day wealth. In my profession, I need not only to be an example to my
clients physically, but I also need to possess many other qualities. I fulfill a variety of roles;
primarily trainer, but at times psychologist, motivator, friend and mentor.

I am an easy-going person, who gets along with people from every walk of life. My greatest
passion is helping people achieve their goals and dreams, which is not difficult - as I feel
I positively influence those around me, not only by what I say but by what is reflected in how I
live and behave. I am fortunate to have always had a loving family, which has provided me
with a solid foundation. This has resulted in me having high moral values and meant taking
from every negative situation a positive life lesson. My partner not only complements me,
she also keeps me grounded and is my greatest supporter. I feel that l I have the necessary
skills and qualities to represent and be a Mr SA.

Life experience has taught me to be flexible, humble and non-materialistic. This is why I am
so passionate about the charity organization we support – the ‘Ons Huis Trust’. The greatest
gift we have, is the ability to give to others who need us most and who have less than we
could ever have or need. I also feel that I am young enough, before I start a family of my
own, to focus on the needs of others. Please support me in this worthwhile and important
endeavor.

ONS HUIS is a project established by
the Charity Commission of the
Elarduspark Dutch Reformed Church's Presbytery.
It was born out of the faith and determination
of a group of parents who kept on believing that,
with its acceptance and support,
their mentally handicapped children would
be able to live and work as normally as possible
within the community.

This is also what they communicated to the presbytery. The project enjoys
the support of the Dutch Reformed Church congregations of
Elarduspark, Moreleta Park and Oosterlig (Pretoria).

We get no government assistance and depend on contributions from the
parents and community. We have applied for registration as a non-profit
organisation.
Special Thanks to all the Sponsors with out you this would not have been posible from Stiaan!!
